So, I've been watching Supernatural since last winter, and was somewhat surprised to find that the famed Wincest just didn't appeal to me. I think I've finally figured out why, and the why also probably explains why I have now dipped my toes in the Wincest pool. Why? I just loved the close brotherly relationship between Dean and Sam, but that's also been absent since before season five ended and it sure as hell hasn't started back with season six, and apparently I miss the close brotherlyness enough that I will turn to Wincest just to get a taste of it.

And now I shall cut away from the fanfic recs, you know just to spare those not quite yet ready to join me on the dark side.

Anyway, the first one I read was good, but WAY too angst filled for me, and almost killed Wincest dead for me before I got off the ground.
(For the record, it was The Bright Lights Of Disturbia by leonidaslion (rated NC-17, of course), and, as I said, it's not a bad fanfic (it's actually guite good) just way too much angst for me.)

However, I got a couple recs on the down-low, and found the next two completely to my tastes. Though in fairness I'd love both of the following fanfics even if they didn't contain Wincest.

The Truth in The Lie by flawedamythyst
NC-17 (complete) slash
Summary: Sam and Dean pretend to be gay lovers while they hunt a monster on a bus tour of Nova Scotia. Oh, yes, it has all those clichés and more!

Stranger than Fiction by thenyxie
NC-17 (complete) slash
Summary: Set immediately post-The Monster at the End of This Book. Dean can't stop wondering why people would write gay porn about him and Sam. Research takes him to interesting places; re-reading novels for subtext, visiting message boards, and a really freaky place called LiveJournal. What he discovers is a sick fascination with fanfiction, more about gay sex than he ever wanted to know, and an even deeper obsession with understanding why people write this stuff. Meanwhile, they're hunting a mysterious monster that takes the form of a person's truest love to kill them slowly, the lines between fanfiction and reality are starting to break down, and they still have to stop Lilith and save the world.

Since then I've found a couple more that I like - okay, one I'm loving:

But What Are Your Thoughts on Yaoi? by Chash
R (complete) slash
Summary: Dr. Brennan is pretty much okay with brother-on-brother action. It's just everyone else who needs convincing.
(I could totally hear Bones saying those things.)

And in light of the coming new episode of Supernatural it's a bit weird that I come across this one just a few days ago.

The Great Roots of Night by lustmordred
NC-17 (complete) slash
Summary: No Summary
(Different, very slashy ending to Bloodlust)

NEW Devotion (What I Wouldn't Do For You) by wolfish_willow
R (complete) slash
Summary: Dean has a secret he wants to share with Sam. Sam's POV
(evil!Dean, eventual evil!Sam)

NEW Wolfpack by Tabaqui
Adult (complete) slash
Summary: No Summary
Notes: Mild spoilers for 'No Exit' but this is a little AU and therefore nothing specific. Some future speculation that is entierly my own. What if the Winchesters weren't quite so tame... Cut text from The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.

NEW To Make His Children Happy by Hellesofbelles (aka) Belle Helanie
NC-17 (complete) slash
Summary: Written for the SPN kink meme (prompt below). John encourages Dean to make Sam his so that his boys won’t be lonely in life. It’s a little easier than expected.
(Part Two)

NEW You and Me by eclecticxdetour
NC-17 (complete) slash
Summary: No Summary
Warning: underage [Sam is 14, Dean is 18], John knows, fellatio, barebacking, bottom!Sam, schmoop

And now, moving on...

Damn you, FOX! There's making a profit, and then there's the oil companies.

FOX is getting too greedy. Seriously, they've all ready taken FX (and some sports channels) away from DISH customers. The sports channels are not missed at all, and right now no one in my house is missing FX. I might miss that channel, but I've only really ever watched the occasional movie on FX, so I'm not really missing it. Now to be fair, the man in my life likes Justified, but even he's cool with missing Justified if it means not seeing an increase in the DISH bill.
(That bill is to damn high as it is.)

Now FOX is threatening to strip away the FOX broadcast channel away from DISH customers (if DISH doesn't pay FOX more then all the other networks combined). To which, I say, "goodbye, FOX."

Yes, FOX, I do like (not love) some of your shows (okay, only one - Bones, and the other person in the house likes House), but again we don't like them enough to want to see our monthly bill skyrocket just to have them. After all, those shows, they'll be out on DVD one day, ad free, I might add, which means I can be patient, but you'll start losing your advertisers money if you play keep-away too long. Seriously, I hope you enjoy having to make good to your advertisers.

Plus, truth is, right now the CW (yeah, that's right I said the CW) and ABCFamily are worth more to me then FX and FOX.

PS - For those reading this waiting patiently for updates on some of my own fanfics - I am sorry, but so far no matter what I'm trying I can't force myself into the proper mood to work on my own. I'll get there, but it's not going to happen overnight.
Hmm... I like "Bones" or is that just because of miss Dechanell (and she's got a cute sister too!... ;) )

As for greed, money, etc.. sounds like business as usuall unfortunately..

It's weird, but I think I have a bit of a crush on Bones, not the actress, but the character. Not that the actress isn't hot, but for some reason she just doesn't do it for me like her character does.

As for the whole DISH vs FOX deal, FOX is all ready into it heavily with Cablevision (I think) in New York, so maybe if something gets sorted there something will also get sorted with DISH, but like I say for now I'm not sweatin' it.
