Not that anyone seems to care, but I feel like babbling about it anyway.

First, I was sick yesterday - for most of the day very sick. I still don't know why, but I feel much better today - I'm still achy in places, but there is no headache or fever. YAY!
Though I have this eerie feeling (outright fear) that the headache may return later.

SO, how does that relate to the new story?

Friday night while watching television, I got bit by the writing bug and ended up hand writing a couple chapters of the story. At that point, I thought everything was coming along well, though before I stopped, I did come to realize that if I continued on that course the story would end sooner than I was expecting. Well since I felt so bad yesterday I just barely had the strength to type up what I'd hand-wrote. I certainly didn't try to add any clever bits or give much thought to what I was typing up.

Now today I realize that with the hand-written bit I was heading into a corner, because if I continue this way the story will come to a rather abrupt end. Well, that or I would end up having to write an outright war (it would be the natural and logical outcome of my present course, but...) - I don't want to write a war, in fact I REFUSE to do it. Therefore, I would let the story abruptly end before it came to that.

So now I get to go back and almost completely redo two whole freakin' chapters - not to mention a few bits that will need to be altered even futher back. On the other hand, I think once I get the altering done the story will (hopefully) come to an end that is natural, logical, and doesn't lead to or involve a war.

Though Anita and Buffy seem hell bent and determined to wipe each other out. And the way the story is set up Anita simply can't win.

Well, actually, it isn't Buffy so much as it is a couple of Buffy's nearest and dearest who want to take Anita apart. The trouble is Buffy doesn't exactly object to what they want because Anita keeps annoying Buffy herself. Still Buffy doesn't hate Anita as much as some of the others do.
The downside is changing the story means I'll lose this cool bit with Edward that I was planning on doing, because changing it means that Anita won't (probably) be calling him in.

Anyway, if the headache from hell doesn't return, hopefully I'll get the alterations done today and be ready to move forward on the story again tomorrow. But I want to work out this little problem before I even think about publishing it.

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. If you've posted your illness else I'm sorry I've not seen it. I've been skimming at FAP.

You can write around the war. You don't have to write that part. Just remember to have Buffy and Anita it's taking place outside their line-of-sight.

You got a whole written in so short a time? That's great. You'll work it in.

Buffy can take Anita, but only if Anita can't call her boys in. If Anita has access to them, I think Buffy would need supernatural help from Willow.

Keep writing!
Sorry, when I said this - Not that anyone seems to care, but I feel like babbling about it anyway, I was talking about the fanfic, not my illness (which is completely gone today (I think and hope, anyway). I did comment about the illness (a touch) on the FAP L&L thread, but it was a small blurb in a large post.

Basically, I said that because no one had commented when I talked about the fanfic in the previous entry.

Anyway, so I went back last night and redone 24 pages. Okay, granted I didn't change every single thing in those 24 pages, but much had to be redone and now I'm going to lose chapter nine (which was almost finished) entirely.

Well, I might not lose it entirely - some of the bits toward the end will still be in play, but I am losing the larger portion of the chapter, because with the changes made it no longer works.

Just remember to have Buffy and Anita it's taking place outside their line-of-sight.

Actually, that would be hard to do since (basically) Buffy and Anita would be the ones leading the war. And depending on which character you ask - the other (of course) started it. Buffy thinks Anita is arrogant and full of herself, and guess what Anita thinks about Buffy...
Of course, the other hard part is that this story is taking place entirely in Buffy's pov, so that would make it next to impossible to write around, unless I just skipped it entirely, and I think readers might feel just a tad cheated if I did that.

Buffy can take Anita, but only if Anita can't call her boys in. If Anita has access to them, I think Buffy would need supernatural help from Willow.

Well, for once, Willow isn't in this story - Oz is. There's a reason for that, but if I told it might spoil, so I won't say just yet. However, I will say it is very odd writing Oz - I'm so used to my stories being Buffy, Xander, and Willow, that having Buffy, Xander, and Oz as the big three is rather interesting, and a departure for me.

I'll also say that Buffy has seduced (not literally - this story really isn't that sexual) some of Anita's forces right out from under her. So if there was a war things would be pretty evenly matched between them. And the rewrite, I think, has made this clear. Even if Anita refuses to see it - Jean-Claude, Richard, and half a dozen others will see it, and Jean-Claude (& some of the others) would refuse to fight knowing this.

So, I'm hoping this will be enough to hold Anita back, if not there is something else in play that will stop her. There is one person she would need to convince, and the way things are set-up this person will not be convinced that waging a war on Buffy is worth it.
