NOTHING IS WHAT IT APPEARS TO BE - Bridget Kelly (Sarah Michelle Gellar, "Buffy The Vampire Slayer") is six-months sober and starting to turn her life around when she is the sole witness in a murder trial. Despite the assurances of her FBI protector, Agent Victor Machado (Nestor Carbonell,"Lost"), Bridget knows her life is on the line. She flees to New York, telling no one, and reunites with her estranged twin, Siobhan Martin (Sarah Michelle Gellar). Wealthy, pampered and married to the strikingly handsome Andrew Martin (Ioan Gruffudd "Fantastic Four"), Siobhan lives what appears to be a fairy tale life – a life where no one knows that Bridget exists. The sisters seem to be mending their frayed relationship – until Siobhan disappears mysteriously, and Bridget makes the split decision to take on her sister's identity. She discovers shocking secrets, not only about her sister and her marriage, but also about Siobhan's best friend, Gemma Butler (Tara Summers, "Boston Legal") and Gemma's husband, Henry (Kristoffer Polaha "Life Unexpected"). Mike Colter ("The Good Wife") and Zoey Deutch ("The Suite Life on Deck") also star. Richard Shepard directed the episode written by Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder.

Ringer 1x01 "Pilot"

To sum it up simply - Good: Could've been better, but me likey anyway..

No, it wasn't the best pilot ever, and it didn't WOW me like the pilots of Pretty Little Liars (best pilot in years) and The Vampire Diaries (others didn't like it, but it WOWed me), but it was good enough to catch and keep my attention so I will at least be watching another week or two. If it goes downhill in the next few episodes then all bets are off, but for now I plan to at least watch a couple more episodes.

Admittedly, though they could use a better sound-track, I think, but aside from that I didn't think this episode was bad.

psst - if you go in expecting Gellar's character(s) here to be like Buffy you will be disappointed.

PS - I do admit that I can't figure out how they'll stretch the premise out here without it getting boring/redundant, but I also wondered that with Pretty Little Liars, and so far they've (PLL) pulled it off for a season and a half, so if Ringer can do even half that well it ought to be fine.

Oh, and if you missed the pilot but kind of want to see it the CW is encoring it again this Friday at 8/7 Central, and again I believe on Monday, as well.

PPS - So, how long do you think it'll take for rumors to start spreading about Gellar having an affair with her co-star. I mean, poor Freddy, right? His wife not just having an affair, but having a lesbian affair with Gellar. *sigh*
