Okay, scared to death is a wee bit of an overstatement.

Anyway, it isn't the movie itself that "scares" me.

So, I got my copy of Entertainment Weekly yesterday, but because I wanted to get my The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural reviews typed up and posted I decided to leave this until today so I could give this the proper focus and attention it deserves.

Now I should pause to point out that I don't hate remakes just because they're remakes - I actually think some remakes are quite good. However, I've been feeling pretty "meh" about this Fright Night remake for awhile - no idea why. Sure, when I was younger I loved the original Fright Night, but even early news of this remake just left me feeling "meh."

But thanks to EW I've now went from "meh" to DNW on this remake.

Why?

Well, according to EW:

Fright Night isn't just out for blood, considering it's scripted by Buffy The Vampire Slayer alum Marti Noxon.

Since I feel like Noxon is a big reason the latter seasons of Buffy went downhill... Well, I'm sure you can imagine how thrilled I am to hear she's written the remake script for Fright Night.

Sadly I'll probably still watch it, eventually, but I'm now expecting even less from the movie then I was before hearing this, and I wasn't expecting much before seeing this news. On the other hand, that might not be as bad as it sounds, because it would really be hard for the movie to end up as bad as I fear, and because my expectations are now so damn low for it... Well, it might end up suprising me or something.
